Does anyone know anything about color glazes? I have a lot of ?'s. (especially John Frieda for dark blonde)
All I know about them is that they're supposed to "boost" or "enhance" your color. I have really dark blonde hair (almost brown) and I actually want to brighten it a bit. But I don't want to go to a salon or dye/highlight my hair or try risky products like color depositing shampoos. And I'd prefer to get something from Wal Mart for cheap. I think I want to use the John Frieda glaze and highlight activating shampoo, but I don't know if it'll really do what I want it to. Also, what happens if I leave the glaze in longer than directed? Will it enhance it any more? Are there better (but still cheap and safe) products out there?
the glaze should brighten you color, but will fade with every wash [because it is semi-permanent] they work well, though so if you want to try it, go for it.
also, it will not enhance it any more if you leave it in longer. the technology with dyes and other hair colors [such as glazes] is that they "deactivate" [so to speak] after a certain amount of time, so leaving it on longer will not enhance the color, but it could make you itchy/your head burn. the directions are on the bottle for a reason; FOLLOW THEM.
