How to bond an older dog with a puppy?
Got any tips on bonding a very domanent three year old female with a boy puppy?
First, you got to introduce the puppy to the female dog by first putting the puppy in a crate/wired cage for about a few days 5 days or so. Next take out the puppy to a neutral ground eg. fenced (with small gaps) garden to let it mix with the female dog as all dogs tend to be territorial and would not allow other dogs within it's territory and please observe constantly without dissappearing else where. If the female dog barks at the puppy, observe further and if they are quietly comfortable with each other, then everything is okay. Else if the female dog is biting the puppy then separate them and put the puppy in the wired cage for a longer period, about a week to let both the dogs to get use to their presence and smell before starting the introducing again. If all else fail, the only option is to separate the dogs.
