Hair brush confusion?
I have long wavy hair, trying to find good hair brush. I don't understand the difference between boar bristle, nylon bristle, wire bristle.
My hair dresser recommended a large round brush for me, but there are so many kinds in the store, and the definitions on the web, totally comfused me. Please help!
When I go to buy a brush, how can I tell which is boar brush, vs nylon, wire and plastic?
I prefer a boar bristle, because it generally gives good tension when styling the hair, plus helps to distribute product and natural oils from your scalp, conditioning your ends. I find that a lot of plastic and wire bristles tend to snag at the hair more, and get caught in the hair easier. Of course, it will be a matter of personal preference and what seems to work better for you. Make sure that whatever brush you choose glides through your hair with slight tension to help smooth, and don't attempt to wrap all the hair around the brush, because then the hair gets caught. Section your hair into smaller sections, and work the brush while drying from the roots, then the midsection, then the ends. Good luck!
