Corrective Color Question?
I'm looking for information from someone who specializes in corrective color. My natural color is dark blonde with some silver and I've had it highlighted for years and used to wear it platinum, so it's not that hard to bring up. Recently I had my partial re-highlight done. It was done too heavily (ie looked like Barbie) so I went in for some lowlights to break it up and ended up looking dark ashey brown and silver. I went in a second time for correction and she used color and low % peroxide bleach, and now my hair is the color of a walnut on the top layer; bright copper on my roots and strawberry blonde underneath. I am going to plaster it with reconstructor for three, four days and go for the fourth attempt. My question is, what is the likelihood of my hair breaking off? It's really pretty tough hair, but I certainly don't want to break it off. I also don't want to look drab like I currently do. It's horrible.
Your hair will absolutely break off if you use any more lightener, No more bleach period!!!. I would use a neutral light to medium brown on the roots and anywhere there is too much red. I wouldn't do anything to the ends right now. in 6 weeks you could try a reverse hightlight or lowlights with the same neutral brown.
