is it possible to go black box dye to blonde?
I have layers and layers of various box dyes, bigen hair color, and special fx..would it be possible to get hi-lites to lift all that out and go blonde? I don't want that pumpkin color either, that is usually what happens. I am not sure if the colorist doesn't know what she is doing or my hair just won't lift...It's naturally dark by the way
Usually hair stylist won't do that kind of dyeing because it damages your hair ALOT. I've done box dye black to platinum blonde but my hair was practically falling out at the end of it. What shade of blonde do you want it to be? If you have a few days to lay low you can just do it yourself, go to the beauty supply store and get some color removal this will turn it probally orange and than condition it, wait a few days than bleach all of it or you can use another color removal and this will lighten up the orange color, reapeat (condition, wait a few days) than bleach it again, by this time it should be lightened enough to use a blonde toner or buy a box dye color bonde.
You can also ask the stylist to "strip" your hair, but this is REALLY expensive. A easy solution to your problem is to just get a blonde weave; a weave is like little highlights throughout your hair, depending on how much money you have you can do this about once a week and slowly your hair will start to lighten up and turn into a blonde color without damaging it to much.
You should ask your stylist more about these solutions.
Hope this helps!
