Beard Medium

If both parents have medium to dark brown hair, would red hair gene be recessive or dominant to this ?
Just wondering as my dad and grandad has red hair and partners grandad has red hair but every one else in the family has light to dark brown hair.
however my partner has a 'red tint' in his beard.. what colour hair would our baby most likely have ?
hi there, well this is a tricky one because i believe red hair is a mixture of two colours and doesn't follow the normal dominat recessive traits.
But if it does follow the normal then it is recessive because there are less red heads than brown haired individuals, however if both of you have red heads in the family then you may both carry the recessive gene which could come together and make a red haired baby, but as it is recessive nothing is set in stone,
you have a 1 in 4 chance of creating a red haired baby and a 3 in 4 chance of getting brown haired babies!
Hope this helps somewhat with the question!
Personally I love red heads, especially if they are that auburn colour! very sexy (when they are older of course, cute when they are young!)
