Will coloring my hair ash brown remove the auburn color in my hair?
My hair is currently auburn but I want it to be a richer pure brown.A brown without any red in it. So will the ash brown cancel out the red?I'm using at home color or do I need to go to the salon?
yes. do not use anything w/ the words: warm, honey, caramel, bronze, etc. in the title--they all connotate or mean 'red' and WILL bring out the red in your hair. I believe however that using Ash tones on red CAN cause a green to show up if not left on long enough or somthing. BEST THING IS TO TRY A TEMPORARY WASH-IN color--they wash out in 6-12 shampoos!
OR go professional; an allover color shouldn't be all that expensive done at a salon. You can easily do toner at home too--go to Sally Beauty Supply or similar. They sell toners you can use to cancel out the red, but you need to know what strength developer, etc., to use so still need some pro advice.
