what are some ways to straighten your hair without using a hot comb(African American Hair)?

I currently have braids in my hair. i dont have a perm because i choose to go natural, its works best for me. But i'll pay $100 to get my hair braided into micros and have to get it re-done in a month because i dont have a perm and it will frizz up. is there any chemicals free texturizers out there?

You COULD relax it, but I'm not sure if you want to do that.

Or, you could straighten it. With straightening, you should have a ceramic straightener, along with a lot of products that'll be 'heat-protective'.
